What began in January 2018 as several business owners coming forward to say they would support the formation of the non-profit Lompoc IBA (an Independent Business Alliance as part of the nationally-chartered non-profit American Independent Business Alliance) is fast approaching reality. Before moving to Lompoc in 2009, Joseph worked for the Santa Monica College Small Business Development Center coaching entrepreneurs in business operations and marketing. Joseph is a Marine Corps veteran and served as a combat correspondent during Operation Desert Shield and Storm. He was trained by the prestigious joint-service Defense Information School in broadcast journalism, radio and television, internal and external communications and community relations. Since that time, Joseph has owned a newspaper, produced a documentary that is a part of the permanent collection in the Smithsonian Institute and produced/directed videos for several Fortune 50 companies including Verizon, FMC and Toyota.
Since 2009, Joseph has created and hosted over 200 websites under the banner Electronic Word of Mouth, a division of his e-learning and kiosk development company called Beachhead Communications.
Joseph is a member of the Lompoc Economic Development Committee as of 2018 and, for the record, has no intentions of seeking political office. He believes that the Lompoc IBA is key to revitalizing Lompoc and that is why he is behind it.
